CLUB WEBSITE
For some years the Surrey Championship have decreed that the Club uses a PLAYCRICKET website. All results and statistics are posted on that site but it has proved rigid and incapable of performing as the Club would wish. The Club have therefore initiated a new site, that will stand alongside the existing site at www.cheamcc.co.uk . The new site is currently a work in progress but does include an online shop for clothing and cricket equipment and other facilities for members. Please visit the site and feed back your comments. Our thanks go to Kevin Wade and Tim Scott for their efforts.
CLUB PRE-SEASON DINNER
Friday 11th April 2008. Further details will be announced nearer the time.
CLUB CLOTHING
A range of newly designed clothing and equipment is available to members. A full brochure of information will be emailed to you in the next few days with details of how and where to place your order. If you wish to preview the designs they can be seen at the cheamcc.co.uk web site in the shop area. Please note that orders will need to be placed via the D&M web site, details to follow. To promote club identity all new colts members will be presented with a free Cheam C.C. cap on joining the Club. The range of clothing is competitively priced and dependant on volumes sold will generate income for the Club. Please support this new initiative.
COLTS REGISTRATION DAY
Sunday 30th March 2008 11.00 a.m.
ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscriptions are due by 31st March. A subscription form is included with this newsletter. Please return the completed form plus your remittance to Stephen Hyde.
CHEAM CC CRICKET CHAMPION.
During June 2008 a competition will be run to find the Club Cricket Champion. The Competition will be open to ALL playing members from U8 to 1st XI ( mentally not a lot older ! ). Points will be awarded to individuals in each competitive match for runs, wickets, catches, fielding and general commitment. The number of points earned by each player will be divided by the number of matches played during the month to arrive at an average. The winner and runner up with the highest average will receive vouchers for them to spend in the club shop. The entry fee is £5 per player which will be added separately on your subscription form. This inaugural event is intended to build bridges between the colts section and the senior members, and to promote interest throughout the Club. It will also hopefully raise a reasonable sum for club funds. All playing members, young and old are encouraged to enter.
Cheam C.C. wishes all its members a Happy New Year
Nick Hill - secretary.
